The Marietta Community Foundation announced today that Mary Vituccio has been selected to serve a five-year term on its Board of Directors and Board of Governors.
Ms. Vituccio is the daughter of the late Carl Broughton, a founding member of the Marietta Community Foundation.
"The Foundation exists today because of the work of Mary's father, Carl Broughton," says Bret Bicoy, President & CEO of the Marietta Community Foundation. "Mary is a bright and talented person who is continuing her family's long tradition of philanthropy in Marietta."
Born and raised in Marietta, Ms. Vituccio holds a Bachelor's Degree from Marietta College and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Akron University. She previously worked as a Children's Medical Social Worker before returning to Marietta in 1988. She now operates Sugden Books on Front Street in downtown Marietta.
"My father left an enormous legacy for Marietta," says Ms. Vituccio. "He taught us that we all have a role to play in making our community stronger. The Foundation is a wonderful community asset and I am honored to have this opportunity to join with them."
Ms. Vituccio also serves on the Board of Directors of the Broughton Foundation. The Carl Broughton Family also generously created the Broughton-Sugden Fund, an unrestricted fund of the Marietta Community Foundation.
