MCF Announces New Board Members

Marietta Community Foundation is pleased to announce their newly appointed members to the Board of Governors and new officers for 2001.

William A. Fields and Karen Osborne have each accepted appointments to the Board of Governors for Marietta Community Foundation for five-year terms.
 
William A. Fields, a local attorney, accepted his appointment from the Washington County Bar Association.  Fields is a Past Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section of the Ohio State Bar Association.  The Supreme Court has selected him to serve on its Board on Character and Fitness.  He is an elected Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), and is a member of the Bank Counsel Group of the Ohio Bankers Association.  He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Probate Law Journal of Ohio (Banks-Baldwin), and is a frequent contributor of articles.  He is currently serving on the Ohio Specialty Board for Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by appointment of the Supreme Court.
 
He received his Juris Doctor Degree from Harvard Law School, and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Ohio State University.

Fields is a former Board member of Bank One, NA (Marietta). He is Treasurer of the Marietta Memorial Hospital Board and former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Washington State Community College.

Mr. Fields is married to Prudence Fields, and resides in Marietta.

Karen Osborne, a CPA at Rea & Associates, accepted her appointment to the Board of Governors from the Foundation's Trustee Banks, which consist of Peoples Bank, Bank One and WesBanco.

Osborne, who was a partner with Robinson, Caltrider & Associates prior to the firm's affiliation with Rea & Associates in 1997, graduated from Miami University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Ohio and West Virginia.  She is a member of the Ohio and Florida Societies of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
 
Osborne has provided volunteer service to several organizations including the O'Neill Senior Center, YMCA and Marietta Welfare League.  Currently she serves on the boards for The Castle, American Field Services (AFS) and the Marietta Crop Walk.
 
Ms. Osborne is married to Ed, who is a professor at Marietta College.  They reside in Marietta and have two grown children, Amy and David.
 
Marietta Community Foundation would also like to announce their newly elected officers for 2001.  William H. Thompson, Chairman, Teri Ann Zide, Vice-Chairman, Joan S. Hushion, Secretary, and Jack Mober, Treasurer.
