The Marietta Community Foundation is seeking a new President & CEO to lead this organization of critical importance to the people of the Mid-Ohio Valley.

President & CEO
The President & CEO of the Marietta Community Foundation, Inc. leads a small but dynamic community foundation based in historic downtown Marietta, Ohio. Operating under the general direction of the Board of Directors, the President serves as the principal advisor to the Board and is responsible for providing overall direction and administration of the Foundation and it?s $7 million in assets.
The President is specifically responsible for:
1) Working closely with the Board in guiding the continued growth of the fund balances as set forth in the spending policies and investment policies of the Foundation,
2) Establishing the basic plans and procedures to ensure that the direction of the Board is executed in a cost effective and efficient manner,
3) Preparing and implementing the annual budget,
4) Increasing the awareness throughout the community of the value of giving through the Foundation,
5) Partnering with other organizations to enhance the effectiveness of grant making and programs meeting the needs of the community,
6) Participating in the selection, training, and evaluation of staff to enhance their skills, improve performance, providing satisfaction and harmony within the office,
7) Communicating the work of the Foundation to the Board and the community.
8) Playing a similar role in the administration of the corporation?s sister trust organization, the Marietta Community Foundation, a community trust.
Ideal Profile
1) The President should be a motivational leader with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. The President should have a demonstrated history of developing major gifts.
2) The President should have a basic understanding of estate planning and the various tools available to donors.
3) The President should have a familiarity with budgets, management of funds and an understanding of investment strategies.
4) The President should be a reputable leader who will have linkage to the community. A blend of assertiveness, determination, and confidence, balanced with diplomacy and a healthy sense of humor will serve this person well.
5) The President should have a demonstrated understanding of the operation and management of non-profit organizations.
6) The President ideally will also have knowledge of community foundations, the ability to manage a small and involved staff, and the ability to anticipate and manage change.
7) This is a position where trust, personal integrity and ethics must be beyond reproach.
Experience and Education Requirements
The President must have proven experience in:
-growth-oriented organizations where customer service is of primary importance,
-presenting articulate written and oral communication,
-managing and motivating a small, professional staff,
-responding to pressures and deadlines,
-listening and incorporating a wide range of views into the decision-making process,
-problem solving.

In order to attract a highly talented individual who is willing to develop new assets and make Marietta their home, the Foundation offers a wonderful benefits package and provides compensation more generous than what is typical of community foundations of this size.
