Dominion East Ohio has once again come to the aid of the area residents. A check in the amount of $5,000. was received last Friday (January 14, 2005). This is in addition to their donation of $7,500. received after the September flood which was the highest water level experienced in 40 years. This amount brings to nearly $70,000. the total funds received by Marietta Community Foundation to assist with flood related issues.
The Marietta Community Foundation is working through Washington Morgan Community Action, Caring Connection, the City of Marietta Development Department, area food pantries and other local agencies to meet needs that are unmet by other resources. Recent projects include installation of a water line to a FEMA mobile home given to a flood affected family. Additionally, with the return of cold weather we have been able to assist in restoration of heating systems damaged by floods.
