MCF Adds New Board Member

Marietta Community Foundation is pleased to announce a newly appointed member to the Board of Governors.
Mr. David C. Barrett, has accepted an appointment to the Board of Governors for Marietta Community Foundation for a five-year term.
Mr. Barrett, a retired school administrator, brings a lot of knowledge to the Board of Governors, especially about the Western part of Washington County.
Born and raised in Washington County, Mr. Barrette has more than 41 years experience in vocational and technical education in the local area. Mr. Barrett has served as Superintendent of Washington County Board of Education and Washington County Joint Vocational School District, Superintendent and Vocational Director of Washington County Joint Vocational School District. He has been an Adult Education Director at Tri-County Vocational Schools in Nelsonville, OH and a Vocational Agriculture Teacher at Fort Frye High School. He has consulted and trained in the area of vocational and technical education in other countries such as, Russia, China and Egypt. He has been a consultant for the United States Agency for International Development, Ohio Power Company and Ohio University.
Mr. Barrett has received numerous awards and has been involved and served many organizations throughout the community for many years. He received his B.S. in Agriculture Education and his Masters in School Administration at Ohio State University. He also attended WVU, Kent State University and Ohio University.
