The Marietta Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from charities serving residents of the Washington County area. Applications are due in the Foundation's office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 7th.
The Foundation considers proposals three times a year. Grants in 2004 included the Washington County Association for Retarded Citizens to help with their summer camp and a grant to Habitat for Humanity to assist in road construction to new houses being built. The Secret Santa program operated by Washington-Morgan Community Action was also supported.
Thanks to very generous gifts from our Unrestricted Fund donors the Marietta Community Foundation is able to operate without charging fees to our fund holders. In 2004, over $633,000. was awarded in unrestricted grants plus scholarships. In total, over $7 million have been granted since the inception of the Foundation in 1974.
Grant applications may be obtained at the Foundation offices at 121 Putnam Street, Marietta, or on the web site at www.mariettacommunityfoundation.org.
