Marietta Community Foundation Announces Grant Awards

The Marietta Community Foundation announces $25,300 in grants awarded during its first cycle of funding for 2006. From unrestricted funds, the following awards:
The Appalachian Nutrition Network for refrigeration equipment for isolated food service sites. $1,200.
The Community Action Program of Washington and Morgan Counties for kitchen equipment to serve the Senior Nutrition Program in Washington County. $3,200.
The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Washington County to support the TEEN Program. $5,250.
Village of Lowell for swimming pool protection program. $5,000.
Village of Matamoras to install pumps for the swimming pool. $1,600.
Barlow Agricultural & Mechanical Association for lighting and power enhancements at the Barlow Fairgrounds and walking track. $1,000.
Sand Hill Child Care Center for a play gym. $550.
Salem Township Volunteer Fire Department for purchase of life saving equipment. $7,500.
The deadline for accepting applications for grants from unrestricted funds for the next cycle is June 7, 2006.
During 2005, The Marietta Community Foundation provided over $805,000. in the form of grants, scholarships and other awards.
