The Marietta Community Foundation ended calendar year 2006 with over $10 million in assets thanks to the many generous gifts contributed over its 32 year history. During that same 32 years, the Foundation granted over $8 million to area organizations and projects with gifts of over $750,000. in 2006.

 

 

Annually, over $50,000 in student scholarships are granted through the Foundation.

 

 

Holding true to this pattern, the Foundation has already granted over $400,000. this year.

 

 

In the second cycle granting of funds from unrestricted assets, the Foundation announces a total of $28,588. of awards to the following projects:

 

 

·        EVE, Inc. Funds to repair their physical shelter $2,000.

 

·        Fearing Township, to assist in black topping an area in and around a picnic shelter, $1,000.

 

·        Ludlow Community Club, to help develop and install additional recreational facilities, $1,000.

 

·        O’Neill Senior Center, $3,088 for washer and dryer, an oxygen concentrator floor scale and oximeter

 

·        Southeastern Ohio Port Authority, $5,000 for Funding for employment opportunity training public awareness and marketing campaign called “Mid Ohio Valley Hot Jobs”.

 

·        The Caring Connection, $7,500 Funding for a program to help low-income residents regain electric service during the summer months.

 

·        City of Williamstown, $7,000 to assist with new pool construction.

 

·        Kiwanis Club of Marietta, $2,000 to finish landscaping and building picnic tables.

 

 

The deadline for accepting applications for grants from unrestricted funds for the next cycle is October 7, 2007.
